- Back of the Beach
During the salt cod fishery, split and cleaned fish were left in salt bulk for two weeks and then spread to dry on flakes built on the Back of the Beach.
- Beckford
An attractive little cove which had an abundant supply of firewood, good land for farming and a salmon river.

There are many salmon holes on the Branch Salmon River from the headwaters down to the Place.

Kerry's Spout is a cold water spring located along the east shoreline beyond the Back of the Beach.
- Pismire Falls
The Pismire Gully creates a waterfall on the cliff face close to The Splink.
- The Flats
A considerable expanse of river islands, knows as the Flats, sit in the heart of the valley.
- The Knapp
In the past, alders were used for firewood and to make brooms and lobster pots.
- The Landwash
The Landwash is a natural playground for those who play in the sand and waves and explore the bordering tidal pools when “the sand is in”.
- The Splink
The Splink is a rock vein that juts out of the cliff around the Pismire Gully waterfall, creating a small, private cove.
- Wester Cove
Starting at Hayjers Rock, the Wester Cove bends in toward Branch on the west side of the River.
- Whitewood Gully
Early in the salt cod fishery, rinds (strips of bark) were used to cover fish in wet weather.
