There's a flood-tide of hope to the spirit of man.
As a light in the darkness it gleams,
To those with the courage who would dare to believe,
And set sail on the river of dreams.

The mightiest of deeds and achievements of men
Down the decades of history, it seems,
Were inspired by those souls who dared to embark
On a voyage down the river of dreams.

It is better by far to cling to a dream
Though in stature you may not stand tall.
Than to blunder through life, a giant amongst men,
Yet your heart possess no dream at all.

A man with no dream, like a ship without sails
Is adrift on life's turbulent sea.
With no goal to achieve, he is aimless and lost.
A soul that can never be free.

Though you stumble and fall on the pathway of life,
Somehow you'll make a new start.
When the going gets rough, you'll still make it through,
If you carry a dream in your heart.

So don't be afraid to wish on a star
Though far beyond reach, still, it means
No task is too hard, no challenge too great
When your pathway's the river of dreams.
